TROY – The Troy football team held its first scrimmage on Saturday with an 80-play session on the turf in Veterans Memorial Stadium. Following the scrimmage, coaches and players met with local and regional media for the team’s annual media day.

"I feel like we are progressing at every position," stated quarterback Corey Robinson. "The O-line is coming along in pass protection and in the running game. Hopefully we can take that into the UAB game (season opener)."

Saturday marks three weeks until the Trojans open the 2013 by hosting UAB at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Aug. 31. Kickoff between the Trojans and Blazers is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
