PRATTVILLE - Six former members of the Prattville High School football team will take their talents to the next level.

The players made their announcement official Thursday during a special signing party at the school.

Justin Chappell, Jeremiah Andrews and Clark Rice announced they would attend Huntingdon College next fall. Walter Steele and Troy Quinn will travel west to New Mexico Military Institute while Austin Schuffert will join the Cadets at West Point and play for Army.

"It’s always a special day when you have players make their announcement," Prattville coach Chad Anderson said. "I know we had several announce back in February but these guys will do well."

Both Steele and Quinn admitted they were traveling a long way from home to continue their dream to play football.

"It’s worth it," Steele said. "I get an opportunity to keep playing the game I love and earn an education."

The two players have not visited the campus located in Roswell, which is famous for "Area 51" which is place both say they plan to visit.

Chappell, Andrews and Rice chose to stay a little closer to home and will play at Huntingdon.

"They have a great program with great coaches," Chappell said. "I really liked the campus and the fact it is close to home makes it the right choice."

Schuffert will join another former Lion in Jarrod Jones, at West Point. Jones announced in February.

"I look forward to the challenge," Scheffert said. "It’s a chance to play Division I football. I’m excited about that."

Prattville had five players sign in February including Jones, Kamryn Pettway, Jacob Blalock, Chandler Houser, Nate Jackson
