Thomas, Washington named Players of Week

The Montgomery Quarterback Club has announced its Players of the Week for games of Sept. 26.

Josh Thomas from Montgomery Academy has been named the Private School Player of the Week and Keith Washington from Prattville High School has been named the Public School Player of the Week. Both players will be honored at the Club’s next meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Lee Roy Jordan, one of the greatest players ever to play at the University of Alabama and the Dallas Cowboys, will be the featured speaker.

Thomas, a senior quarterback, rushed for 186 yards on 25 carries and a touchdown in Montgomery Academy’s 20-11 win over Trinity Presbyterian. Thomas also threw a 26-yard touchdown pass.

Washington, a senior quarterback, rushed for five touchdowns in Prattville’s 52-20 win over Carver. Washington was 10 of 11 passing for 123 yards and rushed for 67 yards.

The Montgomery Quarterback Club meets at the Montgomery Country Club. The social hour begins at 5:30 followed by dinner at 6:30 and the program at 7:00.
