Davis, Rourke top prep players for the week

The Montgomery Quarterback Club has announced its Players of the Week for games of Oct. 2.

Kingston Davis from Prattville High School is the Public School Player of the Week and Nathan Rourke from Edgewood Academy is the Private School Player of the Week.

Both players will be honored at the Club’s next meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Vince and Barbara Dooley will be the featured speakers for the Club’s Annual Ladies Night.

Davis, a senior running back, rushed for 277 yards on 38 carries and three touchdowns in Prattville’s 38-20 win over Jeff Davis. For the season, Davis has rushed for 790 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Rourke, a senior quarterback, was 12 of 15 passing for 243 yards and four touchdowns in Edgewood’s 49-0 win over Macon East. For the season, Rourke has thrown for 2,119 yards and 36 touchdowns.

The Montgomery Quarterback Club meets at the Montgomery Country Club. The social hour begins at 5:15 followed by dinner at 6:15 and the program at 6:45. Guests are welcome at Quarterback Club meetings but guests must make an advance reservation and pay $30 at the door.
