Catholic fares well at Swede Umbach tourney

Montgomery Catholic Varsity wrestling team took first and sec ond individual finishes at the Swede Umbach Invitational recently held on at Auburn High School.

Catholic junior Zachary Van Alst placed first in 132 pounds and senior Gabe Keating taking second in 160 pound weight class.

The Catholic JV wrestlers competed at the Montgomery Open tournament held at Goodwyn. The Knights brought home five medals total including: Sean Moore, first Place; Jason Flowers, second Place; Maverick Friday, second Place; Clayton Peeler, third Place; and Michael Hodges, third Place.

The Knights finish the 2015 calendar with a match at Prattville Christian Academy and the Barry Mask Tournament on Dec. 28-29.
