QB Club announces first prep Players of the Week

The Montgomery Quarterback Club has announced its Players of the Week for games of Aug. 25-27.

Mike Huntley from Robert E. Lee High School is the Public School Player of the Week and Tripp Carr from Autauga Academy is the Private School Player of the Week.

Both players will be honored at the Club’s first meeting of the season on Sept. 13. Tony Barnhart, college football studio analyst for ESPN and the SEC Network, will be the featured speaker.

Huntley, a senior quarterback, passed for 263 yards and four touchdowns in Lee’s 51-44 win over Park Crossing. Huntley also rushed for 77 yards and scored three times.

Carr, a sophomore quarterback, was 12 of 17 passing for 215 yards and four touchdowns in Autauga’s 54-32 win over Tuscaloosa Academy. Carr also rushed for 75 yards on five carries.

The Montgomery Quarterback Club meets at the Montgomery Country Club and is currently accepting membership applications. The application may be found on the Club’s website at www.mgmqbackclub.org.
