Former ACA star Taylor named SEC Player of the Week
Former Alabama Christian Academy star Chandler Taylor was named the SEC Player of the Week after leading the Alabama Crimson Tide to a sweep of Auburn in this past weekend’s series.
Taylor, a sophomore, led the Crimson Tide in every offensive category batting .500 with a pair of doubles, three home runs, three RBIs, five runs scored and three walks while slugging 1.286 for the three games.
Taylor hit a pair of home runs in a one-run victory on Friday, then added four hits and scored three runs in the series finale on Sunday.
Alabama ended its 13-game losing streak in the series with Auburn and continued the trend of winning the weekend series against the Tigers while losing the non-conference matchup in Montgomery the previous March.
