Alabama State football to open at UAB for 2025 slate

For the third time in four years, Alabama State football will open on the road.

Coach Eddie Robinson Jr. announced the Alabama State University 2025 football schedule at the National Signing Day Bash on Wednesday. The Hornets will open in Birmingham on Thursday, Aug. 28 against UAB at Protective Stadium. Kickoff time will be announced at a later date.

The 2025 slate features eight games in the state of Alabama, including six at ASU stadium.

Following the trip to Birmingham, the Hornets travel to Baton Rouge for a non-conference game against Southern University on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Miles College visits ASU Stadium for the 2025 home opener on Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. After an open date, ASU travels to Tallahassee, Fla. to face Florida A&M University on Sept 27 to open conference play.

The October schedule begins with the annual homecoming game when Bethune-Cookman comes to town on Oct. 4, at 2 p.m.

Bama State goes on the road for the rest of October, traveling to Jackson State on Oct. 11, before closing the month against in-state rival Alabama A&M in the Magic City Classic in Birmingham.

November features five games, including three home contests. ASU travel to Texas to take on Prairie View A&M on Nov. 1, before playing host to Texas Southern on Nov. 8, at 2 p.m.

The Hornets travel to Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 15, then return home to host Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. followed by the annual Turkey Day Classic to face Tuskegee on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m.
