This Saturday, the Montgomery Biscuits will play host to a special event to benefit the team’s charitable foundations.

The first Burgers Up event will take place at Riverwalk Stadium to raise money for COVID-19 relief in the area.

“This is about reaching out to our community and providing an opportunity to give to our first responders, health care workers and to the people who are involved in the restaurant business,” stated Biscuits general manager Mike Murphy. “We may not have baseball right now but we still want to make this special weekend fun, even if it means we can’t play so this is a great way to have some fun and enjoy the holiday while helping out some of our people.”

The event will feature several chefs and competitive groups in a burger cook off on the infield with grills set up on the diamond. The burgers will be judged by local restaurant owners, Bama-Q teams  and the Alabama Cattleman’s Association.

The event will be available to watch on various Facebook channels including the Biscuits homepage  as well as Bama-Q TV.

Viewers can also participate in a live auction through the Live Source app. Auction items include game-worn jerseys, baseball plus other memorabilia.  Fans can also bid on Biscuit experiences.
