FLAG FOOTBALL: Tallassee finishes strong with win over Marbury; Playoff pairings released

Tallassee 21, Marbury 12

MARBURY -- Regan Easterwood scored three touchdowns and Kam Tate recorded three interceptions as the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs 21-12 on Wednesday.

The game was the regular season finale for both clubs as they prepare for the state playoffs next week.

In addition to Tate, Marlee Osborne and Cheyann Easterling also had interceptions for the Tigers’ defense.

Easterwood ran for a touchdown and threw to Osborne and Easterling for two more touchdowns.

Tallassee (9-1-1) will play host to 2023 semifinalist Satsuma in the opening round of the 1A-5A state playoffs on Monday at J.E. “Hot” O’Brien Stadium at 6 p.m.

Marbury (5-5) will remain home to play Charles Henderson in the opening round of the 1A-5A state playoffs in a game tentatively set for Tuesday.
