PRESS PICKS: The Return of 2020 Picks has Dunn defending title

This is Press Picks and it’s back for another season.
If you are new to this Website, we introduce you to the best prognostication from the media in the River Region.
If you are a veteran reader, you know there is not much truth in that statement.
For the 11th year, River Region Sports presents Press Picks, which features eight members of our local media who will pick high school and college games each week. At least let’s hope they get that opportunity.
With COVID-19 staring the nation of football in the face, we hold our covered breath in that the season can be completed.
Last year, RRS publisher Graham Dunn took home the title, his third time to do so but the first time in three years.
As long as there is high school and/or college football, we will have Press Picks.
This week, the prep season opens with several interesting matchups. The annual AHSAA Challenge features two “local” games with Catholic facing Pike Road and Wetumpka battling Prattville. Lee and Park Crossing face difficult road tests while the Capital City Conference has solid matchups with Trinity visiting Alabama Christian and St. James battling Montgomery Academy.
