MONDAY PREPS: Trinity softball defeats Dadeville; Edgewood baseball earns comeback win

Trinity 10, Dadeville 6
Marley Sharpless went 2 for 4 with a run scored and four RBIs and Micaiah Shelton went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Wildcats to a 10-6 win over Dadeville on Monday.
Kate Knight also went 2 for 4 for the Wildcats, scoring twice and driving in a run while Emma Rose Meldrum, Harper Johnson and Mae Mae Milton each added a hit in the win.
In the circle, Madi Milton pitched five innings, giving up seven hits and four earned runs while walking three and striking out four. Sharpless got the save by pitching the final two innings, allowing four hits and an earned run while walking one.
Trinity (3-0) will travel to Andalusia on Thursday for a game at 3:30 p.m.
Prattville Christian 5, Alabama Christian 0
PRATTVILLE -- Lara Beth NeSmith pitched a one hitter and struck out eight as the Panthers shut out Alabama Christian 5-0 on Monday.
At the plate, Payson Hanson was 2 for 3 with a solo home run and two RBIs. Chloe Hollon was 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI, Saniyah Weaver was 2 for 4 and Paysley Bayer had an RBI single.
PCA (2-2) will travel to Pike Road on Tuesday for a game with the Patriots at 5 p.m.
ACA (0-1-1) returns home to play Elmore County on Tuesday and Brewbaker Tech on Thursday.
BASEBALL
Edgewood Academy 13, Lowndes Academy 8
The Wildcats scored six runs in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh to earn a come-from-behind victory over homesteading Lowndes Academy on Monday.
Edgewood pounded out 19 hits including four from Landon Smith and three from Jackson Hudson.
Grant Casey and Jase Howard each had two hits for the Rebels. Reid Owen had a three-run triple.
GIRLS TENNIS
LAMP 9, Dothan 0
The Golden Tigers defeated Class 7A Dothan on Monday by sweeping the singles and doubles competition from the Wolves.
In singles, LAMP’s Reena Chen defeated Shrea Patel at No. 1, Hannah Lee defeated Adeline Nichols at No. 2, Grace Liu beat Sadie Pfister at No. 3, Dabeen Choi shut out Mary Selwyn Nichols at No. 4, McKenzie Kim beat Mary Kate Gowen at No. 5 and Jamie Lo defeated Abigail Kennedy at No. 6.
In doubles, Lee-Liu defeated Pfister-Adeline Nichols at No. 1, Chen-Kim beat Gowen-Patel at No. 2 and Choi and Hannah Baik defeated Valentina Gonzalez and Abigail Stephens at No. 3.
LAMP (8-4) remains home to play Charles Henderson on Thursday in the first of four consecutive 4A-5A Section 3 matches.

The defending 4A-5A state champions swept 7A Dothan in singles and doubles competition on Monday, beating the Wolves 9-0.
In singles, LAMP’s Ian Shin defeated Gavin Danzie at No. 1, Ian Kim beat Ethan Peel at No. 2, Sun Ho Kim defeated James Howell at No. 3, Minsoo Park beat Fred Smith at No. 4, Richard Chen defeated John Sherer at No. 5 and Wonjun Lee shut out Rider Wylly at No. 6.
In doubles, Shin and Sun Ho Kim beat Peel-Howell at No. 1, Ian Kim and Lee beat Smith-Danzie at No. 2 and Park-Chen defeated Sherer-Wylly at No. 3.
LAMP (11-2) remains home to play Charles Henderson on Thursday in the first of four consecutive 4A-5A Section 3 matches.
