BOYS

Catholic 47, LAMP 27

Many of their players remain on the football field, but it didn’t seem to have any effect on the Knights, who took advantage of a cold-shooting LAMP team to defeat the Golden Tigers 47-27 on Thursday in the LAMP gym.

Catholic (1-0) struggled from the field as well, hitting just 29 percent (17 of 59) from the floor, but got 13 points each from Matthew Reardon and Miles Hannah.

Reardon hit just one of his seven 3-point attempts, but was 5 of 6 from inside the arc and had six rebounds and three blocked shots. Hannah led the team with five assists and two 3 pointers as the Knights hit just 4 of 22 from behind the arc.

Jamarion Williams had 11 points, 10 rebounds and six steals, followed by Johnathan Rhoden with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

LAMP (0-3) continues to search for an offensive spark, shooting just 17 percent (8 of 47) from the field and making just two of their 15 3-point attempts. Jezreel Fishoe led the Golden tigers with 11 points.

LAMP travels to Horseshoe Bend tomorrow while Catholic plays host to BTW Magnet on Saturday.
