UPDATED FRIDAY: Games rescheduled due to impending weather situation

Several schools have decided to move their basketball games scheduled for Friday, fearing the wintry mix that is forecast for large parts of the state.

Several area games were moved up to avoid traveling on Friday as the weather forecast for central Alabama could include freezing rain or the possibility of icy travel conditions.

Prattville Christian Academy moved its 4A Area 6 game at West Blocton to Wednesday and defeated the Tigers 60-15 in girls’ basketball and 44-39 in boys’ basketball.

Four other Friday games were rescheduled for Thursday, including Dallas County at Alabama Christian, Prattville at Thompson, Holtville at Marbury and Wetumpka at Stanhope Elmore.

Alabama Christian swept Dallas County and Marbury swept Holtville, while the Stanhope Elmore boys defeated Wetumpka and the Prattville girls defeated Thompson.

One game, Chambers Academy at Hooper Academy, was canceled, while three others in the area were rescheduled at a later day.

The Enterprise-Carver game at Carver was postsponed a day and will now be played on Saturday, with the girls tipping off at noon and the boys following at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The Catholic-Tallassee game at Tallassee was postponed until next Wednesday at the same time, while the Trinity-LAMP game at LAMP was postponed until next Thursday at the same time.
