RRS PREP MEDIA DAY: Record number of new coaches set to meet local media

A record number of new coaches are expected to be a part of the third-annual River Region Prep Media Day at Trinity Presbyterian today.

As many as 11 new coaches in the River Region are slated to attend the event, which was forced to move due to renovations at Garrett Coliseum.

No less than 12 media outlets are expected to attend with 28 schools scheduled to hold interviews. More than 60 athletes are scheduled to attend.

WTLS 106.9 and 94.7 (Score 94& Kicks 106) will be live at the event beginning at noon. Coaches and dignitaries will be interviewed during the two-hour show.

Teams will begin practicing next Monday. Some can open workouts this week if no spring practice was held.

AISA schools may also begin practicing this week.

The regular season is set to open Aug. 19.
