SATURDAY PREPS: Macon East baseball wins twice

Macon East Academy 13, Westfield School 4 (5)
COLUMBUS, Ga. -- The Knights closed out play in the Border Wars Tournament on Saturday afternoon with a 13-4 win over Georgia Independent School Association opponent Westfield School.
Camden Bell picked up the win in the five-inning game, pitching the first two innings and allowing just two hits while striking out one and walking two in allowing two runs.
Deonte Powell pitched the final three innings, giving up three hits while striking out four and surrendering no walks nor earned runs.
Bryant Rascoll went 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and three RBIs and Luke Noffsinger went 2 for 2, was hit twice, had a stolen base and drove in a run. Camden Bell and Jack Jones each finished with a hit and two RBIs. Jabe Boroff and Gunner Justice also had hits.
Macon East (12-2) remains on the road, traveling to Abbeville Christian on Tuesday before returning home to play Chambers in an area matchup on Thursday.

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Matthew Kitchens pitched a complete game, scattering seven hits while striking out five, walking one and allowing just one earned run in a 7-5 win for the Knights over their Georgia Independent School Association opponent in the Border Wars Tournament at Golden Park on Saturday.
Jabe Boroff led the Macon East offense, going 2 for 3 at the plate with a single, a double and a walk while driving in three runs. Camden Bell, Gunner Justice, Matthew Kitchens, Dalton Nickles and Hunter Timmerman all finished the game with one hit each.
Macon East (11-2) concluded pool play with a 2-1 record and was scheduled to open bracket play later in the afternoon.
BOYS SOCCER
Prattville Christian 2, Saint James 2
PRATTVILLE -- Cohen Palmore and Liam Taylor each scored a goal to help Prattville Christian salvage a 2-2 tie with the Trojans on Saturday.
Cade Segars had an assist for the Panthers (1-1-1).
GIRLS SOCCER
St. Luke’s Episcopal 11, Prattville Christian 2
PRATTVILLE -- Avery Rogers scored both of Prattville Christian’s goals in an 11-2 loss to St. Luke’s on Saturday. PCA dropped to 1-2-1 with the loss.
Prattville Christian 1, Holtville 1
PRATTVILLE -- Emily Branch scored Prattville Christian’s lone goal in a defensive struggle that ended in a 1-1 tie with Holtville on Friday night at Panther Stadium.
