STAFF REPORT

PENSACOLA, Fla. –  The Montgomery Biscuits were unable to hold on to a five-run lead in the second game of the Best-of-3 series against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Thursday night at Admiral Fetterman Field.

The Blue Wahoos scored six unanswered runs to win Game 2, 6-5, and even the series at 1-1.

Montgomery outfielder Kameron Misner gave the Biscuits the lead on a RBI-triple and Kyle Manzardo added a sac fly that increased the lead to 2-0 in the first inning.

After Biscuits starter Sean Hunley had a 10-pitch first inning, the Biscuits added to the lead with Alika Williams scoring Evan Edwards with a sac fly and Brett Wisely followed with a ground-rule double to score catcher Blake Hunt giving the Biscuits a 4-0 advantage.

Jordan Qsar smashed a solo home run to right center to make it 5-0 in the fourth. But the Biscuits would be held scoreless the rest of the way as Pensacola scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth with the key hit coming from Thomas Jones, who delivered a two-run homer that cut the lead to two runs.

The Wahoos tied the game in the seventh when Davis Bradshaw singled. In the eighth, shortstop Nasim Nunez hit his first home run in Double-A to give his team the lead for the first time. The Biscuits were able to get a runner on in the ninth but a double play ended the threat.

The series will be decided on Friday when the teams return to action at Fetterman Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
