Another big night for Tacaris Bozeman meant another win for Sidney Lanier.

The Poets got three touchdowns from the junior running back in a 43-0 win over Park Crossing on Thursday at Cramton Bowl.

The win improved the Poets record to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in Cass 6A, Region 2.

After the Poets were handed a quick 2-0 lead on a safety by the Park Crossing punt team, Bozeman went to work with a 39-yard romp on Lanier’s first play from scrimmage, for a 9-0 advantage with 8:47 left in the first period.

The Poets would put up 30 points in the first half while holding Park Crossing to just 38 yards. Jamarcus Hamilton led the defense with three sacks and an interception in the half.

Breylon Jones had two touchdown passes including a 42-yard strike to Jamarcus Howard followed by a pass to Zariah Marks for 42 yards on the next possession.

Bozeman picked up where he left off to start the second half with an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown – his third return for scores in two games. He closed out the scoring with his only carry in the second half, a 3-yard run with 7:40 left in the game.

He finished with a modest 78 yards rushing on nine carries. Jones finished with 129 yards passing on 6-of-10 attempts. He also had an interception, picked off by Jo’Tavion Pierce for one of the few highlights for the Thunderbirds.

Park Crossing finished with negative yardage in the game, thanks in part to three bad snaps that resulted in minus-70 team yards.

Lanier will return home next Thursday to face Russell County while Park Crossing (0-6, 0-3) travels to Valley.
