THURSDAY PREPS: Lee dominates in win over Park Crossing

Running back Brian Thomas rushed for  126 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Robert E. Lee Generals to a 33-6 victory over Park Crossing in Class 6A, Region 2 action at Cramton Bowl on Thursday.

The win guaranteed a playoff spot for the Generals for a second-straight year and the fourth time in the last five years.

Thomas had two touchdown runs of  6 yards and he added another 2-yard run for a score in the final quarter.  Quarterback Jakel Williams had a 1-yard plunge for a score to open the game while bacafadsfkdkup quarterback Bryson McGrew had a touchdown pass to Jerald Bonner for 11 yards in the final period.

Williams had 71 yards rushing and 145 yards passing before leaving the game with an apparent injury in the second half. Christopher Dilihay added six catches for 89 yards. DeMarion Nelson had two interception while ulius Owens added a pickoff.

The Thunderbirds got their lone score on a 90-yard kickoff return from Solomon Beebe in the third quarter. They were held to just 58 yards in total offense. Defensively, Cameron Williams had six tackles and two for a loss for the Thunderbirds.

Lee (5-2, 4-2) will complete the region portion of the schedule next week at Valley while Park Crossing (0-8, 0-6) will look to end their losing streak with a game against Opelika on Thursday.
