Tide set to play Baylor in Big XII/SEC Challenge

Alabama is set to play Baylor in the 2022 Big 12/SEC Challenge basketball event.

The full schedule of games was announced by the Southeastern Conference on Wednesday.

Alabama reached the Sweet 16 last season and is expected to be one of the top teams in the SEC in the upcoming season.

Baylor is the defending national champion after knocking off Gonzaga in the title game last March.

Ironically, Alabama is also scheduled to meet Gonzaga during the 2021-22 season. The two teams will play in Seattle on Dec. 4. Alabama will play a third 2021 Final Four opponent in Houston in November.

The Big 12/SEC Challenge will be played on Jan. 29 with the Tide hosting Baylor at Coleman Coliseum. Tipoff times will be announced later.

Auburn also learned its Big 12 foe on Wednesday. The Tigers will be at home to face Oklahoma.
