WEDNESDAY HOOPS: St. James tops PCA in Chapman Tourney

BOYS BASKETBALL
St. James 43, Prattville Christian 31
St. James defeated the Panthers in the seventh-place game of the Coach Larry Chapman Foundation Tip-Off Tournament on Wednesday to even their record at 3-3.
Wade Mora led the Panthers with 10 rebounds. Justin Chapman added five points and four rebounds. Ethan Girlie scored five points and Easton Miller scored four points. Murray Wright had three points and five rebounds. Ethan Kiefer had three points and five steals. Cody Chapman and Carter Fiacco each added three points and four rebounds. Sam Wheeler scored three points.
St. James travels to Catholic on Monday, while PCA (2-5) returns home to play host to Alabama Christian on Monday.
Evangel Christian 67, Morgan Academy 50
SELMA -- Tylon Shine scored a game high 24 points to lead Evangel to the win over Morgan Academy in the Morgan Academy's Turkey Day Classic Tournament on Wednesday.
Shine grabbed six rebounds, had five assists, two steals and one block. He was named to the All Classic Team. Jordan Duncan added 13 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Desi Stovall chipped in nine points, grabbed 12 rebounds, one assist and one steal while D'John Wright also had nine points, one assist and one steal.
The Lions (3-1) will host Macon East Academy on Monday.
Marbury 81, St. James 54 (TUESDAY)
Jacob Driver hit five 3-pointers in the second quarter and three more in the third to help the Bulldogs to an 81-54 win over the Trojans in the Coach Larry Chapman Foundation Tip-Off Tournament on Tuesday.
Driver scored 22 points in the second quarter and 13 more in the third to finish with 35 points. Jamar Brown added 23 points, scoring 13 in the first half and 10 more in the third quarter. Aurelius Reed added nine points.
Marbury (3-6) faced Pike Road on Wednesday for fifth place in the tournament.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Prattville Christian 81, Montgomery Academy 34
Kayden Carr led the Lady Panthers to a third place finish in the Coach Larry Chapman Foundation Tip-Off Tournament with 33 points, six assists and four steals in an 81-34 win over the host team of the tournament on Wednesday.
Jenna McClendon added 18 points and eight rebounds. Ally Blankinchip had 11 points, nine assists and five rebounds. Leah Cate Wilson added six points and four rebounds. Baylee Rogers had three points, seven assists and four steals. Reagan Houston and Kayleigh Arthur each scored three points.
Montgomery Academy was led by EG Hines with 10 points, followed by Kaci Armistead with nine.
Carr and Armistead were selected to the all-tournament team.
PCA (7-2) will return to Montgomery on Tuesday to play St. James, while Montgomery Academy (1-3) will travel to Auburn High on Monday.
