WEEKEND HOOPS: PIke Road girls top Greenville; Stanhope Elmore boys beat Prattville

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Pike Road 52, Greenville 18

PIKE ROAD -- Audrey Blaine scored 16 points to lead the undefeated Patriots past Greenville 52-18 in the Pike Road gym on Saturday.

Freshman Jordan Robinson added 12 points, followed by KJ Fencher with nine.

The Patriots (4-0) take on Prattville Christian in the opening round of the Coach Larry Chapman Foundation Tip-Off Tournament on Monday at Montgomery Academy at 2:30 p.m.

 

Evangel Christian 37, Escambia Academy 30

CANOE -- Mariah Curry scored 17 points and Erica Burton added 14 points and six rebounds as the Lions defeated Escambia Academy on Saturday.

Evangel Christian (2-1) return to action in Selma in the Morgan Pepsi Classic, facing Evangel Christian School on Monday and Morgan Academy on Tuesday.

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

Stanhope Elmore 102, Prattville 79

MILLBROOK -- The Lions dropped their second consecutive game on Friday, giving up 24 points in the first quarter and 29 in the second in a 102-79 loss to the Mustangs.

Xavier Dunn led the Lions with 24 points, two rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Cam Lewis added 14 points and three steals and Tyler Smith had 12 points, four rebounds and three steals. Tanner Ehmen led the Lions in rebounding with seven.

Prattville (2-2) returns to action on Saturday against Jefferson Christian in the first round of the Pelham Thanksgiving Tournament. 

Trinity 59, LaFayette 41

John Morris scored 20 points, all in the first half, to lead the Wildcats to a 59-41 win over LaFayette at Captain Jack Court on Friday.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 19-8 lead over LaFayette in the first quarter with 3-pointers from Kamari Hutson and Tillman Clements, along with two 3s from Morris.

LaFayette’s Jordan Johnson led all scorers with 21 points, followed by Kemera Harrington with 10.
