FRIDAY’S RESULTS

BOYS

LAMP 67, BTW Magnet 63 (OT)

Quinn Sloane had 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists and five steals to lead the Golden Tigers to an overtime victory against BTW in Carver’s Edward L. Wood Memorial Gym on Friday night.

Felix McGhee added 19 points and four steals and Mitchell Sloane had 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Tigers, who played their third consecutive game without senior Micah Boone.  

Jalen Scott led BTW with 18 points and R.J. Comer added 15.

LAMP (14-15) will face Trinity in the opening round of the Area 4 tournament on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Catholic gym.

Evangel Christian 69, Eastwood Christian 29 

Tyree Curry scored 21 points with five assists and four steals to give Evangel the final win of the regular season over Eastwood. David Werking added 14 points and five rebounds while Marcus Townsend finished with 13 points, three assists and six rebounds. 

The top-ranked Lions (25-1, 6-0 in area play) drew a first-round bye in the upcoming state tournament and will play the winner of Jackson Academy-North River Christian on Feb 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl.

Prattville Christian 64, Prattville 57

PRATTVILLE – Jacob Comer had 32 points and five rebounds to help the 3A Panthers defeat 7A Prattville 64-57 in the PCA gym on Friday night.

Tillman Makupson added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Panthers, followed by Stillman Davis with 10 points and six rebounds, Camron Coleman with five points, six assists and four rebounds and Coleman Hunter with five points. 

PCA (10-20) will face BTW Magnet in the opening round of the Area 6 tournament at Southside-Selma on Wednesday at 6 p.m. 

The junior varsity team dropped its season finale to Prattville, falling to 1-14, as Brady Roberson had 16 points, followed by PJ Evans with 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Tanner Byrd with eight points and nine rebounds, Conner Williams with eight points and four rebounds and Cole Houston with seven points.

Prattville 63, LAMP 43

Jordan Gates had 12 points to lead a balanced attack as Prattville defeated the Golden Tigers in the LAMP gym on Thursday night.

Mitchell Sloane had 20 points for LAMP. 

 

GIRLS

Prattville Christian 50, Prattville 11

PRATTVILLE -- CoCo Thomas led the Lady Panthers with 12 points and seven rebounds as they cruised past 7A Prattville in the PCA gym on Friday night.

Ella Jane Connell added 11 points and seven assists, Jacey Haynes had 10 points and six rebounds, Chelsea Mulliner added eight points, six rebounds and five steals for PCA. Hannah Jones scored four points and Avery Rogers scored three points. 

Senior Tori DeMaio grabbed six rebounds and surpassed 900 career rebounds on Senior Night.

PCA (28-2) returns to action on Thursday at home in the Area 6 tournament. BTW Magnet will play Southside-Selma in an opening round game on Tuesday and PCA will face the winner on Thursday at 6 p.m.

LAMP 43, BTW Magnet 31

Ariana Cannida and Emilee Middleton each had 10 points and Aariel Johnson added eight as the Lady Tigers won back-to-back games for the first time this season with a 12-point win over BTW Magnet in Carver’s Edward L. Wood Memorial Gym on Friday night.

Alysia Rogers led BTW with 12 points. 

LAMP (4-21) returns to action on Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Trinity in the 4A Area 4 tournament at Trinity’s Captain Jack Court.

THURSDAY’S RESULTS

BOYS

Macon East Academy 49, Pike Liberal Arts 38

CECIL – Jayman Pettway had 12 points, four assists and four rebounds to lead Macon East Academy to a win over the Patriots and the AAA Region 1 Area 2 championship on Thursday in the Macon East gym.

Chris Daniel added nine points and six rebounds and Stone Yarnell had eight points and four rebounds as Macon East earned a berth in the state tournament with the win. The Knights return to action in the AAA quarterfinals on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl.

Alabama Christian 75, St. James 68

KJ Kendrick scored 29 points as Alabama Christian rallied from a one-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to defeat the Trojans in the ACA gym on Thursday night. 

Caden Perry added 15 points in the tightly contested game, followed by Braden Alford with 11.

Andrew Sadie led the Trojans with 20 points, followed by Bradley Thomas with 17 and Zac Russell with 11.

Alabama Christian closes out the regular season at Maplesville on Friday before returning to action against Catholic on Wednesday at 7 p.m., in the opening round of the Area 4 tournament at Catholic.

St. James closes out the regular season with the annual “Coaches vs. Cancer” game at Montgomery Academy on Friday before traveling to Bullock County to face the Hornets in the opening round of the Area 5 tournament next Thursday at 6 p.m.

Montgomery Academy 74, Chilton County 46

Oliver Bear led the Eagles with 22 points, seven assists and six rebounds as Montgomery Academy coasted past 6A Chilton County at home on Thursday.

William Norrell added 12 points and five rebounds, Hilsman James chipped in five points and 10 rebounds, Mac Main had eight points, six rebounds and five assists and Jack Anzalone scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds. 

Montgomery Academy (16-10) plays host to Trinity in the “Coaches vs. Cancer” game at home on Friday before opening play in the Area 5 tournament at Bullock County against Pike Road next Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Catholic 71, Elmore County 36

Catholic cruised to a 30-point lead at the half and coasted the rest of the way in a 71-36 win over the Panthers on Thursday night in the Catholic gym.

DJ Carter had 20 points, four steals and three assists to lead the Knights, followed by Pat Ryan with nine points and four steals and Justin Bufford with eight points, five steals and four blocked shots.

Catholic (24-4) will play host to St. James on Friday, then host the Area 4 tournament next week, facing Alabama Christian in an opening-round game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. 

Tallassee 70, Prattville Christian 49

TALLASSEE -- Jacob Comer led the Panthers with 20 points, four rebounds and four assists as PCA fell to Tallassee in the Tigers’ gym on Thursday. 

Stillman Davis added 10 points and six rebounds, Camron Coleman had eight points and four rebounds, Tillman Makupson scored eight points and Carson Roberson scored three points for PCA (9-20). Coleman Hunter grabbed six rebounds for the Panthers.

GIRLS

St. James 45, Alabama Christian 21

St. James cruised to a 27-8 halftime lead and finished off the Eagles with a 24-point victory in the Alabama Christian gym on Thursday night.

KK Hall led the Trojans with 12 points, followed by Hannah Grace Griggs with nine, Danielle Greene with six and Seanna Brooks with five.

St. James (14-11) plays at Catholic on Friday before opening play in the Area 5 tournament next Wednesday at Pike Road against Montgomery Academy at 7:30 p.m.

Montgomery Academy 66, Chilton County 20
Sophomore Gianna Foti came off the bench to score 12 points to lead Montgomery Academy to an easy win over 6A Chilton County on Thursday at Joe Mooty Court.

Everyone on the MA roster scored, led by Foti and Leighton Robertson with 12 points each, Madi Caddell with 10 points and Millie Stevenson and Gabby Ramirez with nine points each. 

Montgomery Academy plays host to Trinity in the annual “Coaches vs. Cancer” game on Friday at 6 p.m., then will face St. James in the opening round of the Area 5 tournament at Pike Road on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Pike Liberal Arts 48, Macon East Academy 42

CECIL – Emi Lott scored 17 points and Maddie Ross added 12 but a late rally wasn’t enough as Macon East fell to Pike Liberal on Thursday in the Macon East gym.

Macon East finished as the third seed in AAA Region 1 Area 2 play and will go on the road next week for a sub-state game.

Prattville Christian 69, Tallassee 35

TALLASSEE -- Ella Jane Connell led the Lady Panthers with 31 points, five assists and four steals as Prattville Christian improved to 27-2 with the win in the Tallassee gym on Thursday.

Chelsea Mulliner added 10 points, CoCo Thomas had nine points and 11 rebounds, Jacey Haynes added seven points and four rebounds and Tori DeMaio had four points and four rebounds. Hannah Jones added four points for the Panthers.

LAMP 44, Prattville 32

Aariel Johnson scored 19 points to lead the Tigers to a win over the 7A Lions in the LAMP gym on Thursday night.

LAMP (3-21) traveled to BTW Magnet on Friday.
