MONDAY PREPS: Catholic softball dumps LAMP; PCA trims Tallassee

Catholic 11, LAMP 1 (6)
Kamryn Iverson went 3 for 3 with a double and a triple, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs to lead a 13-hit attack as the Knights virtually wrapped up 4A Area 4 with a win over LAMP on Monday that was halted by the mercy rule.
Catholic can clinch the host site for the area tournament in a doubleheader on Tuesday against Booker T. Washington at Catholic.
Camilla Abbott went 1 for 2 with a two-run double, Hayley Ishman went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple, scored three times and drove in three runs, Riley Hudson went 2 for 4 and scored a run, Jaidyn Simmons went 1 for 3 with a double, scored a run and drove in two more, Riley Wilcoxson went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Hayden Fitts went 1 for 3 with a double, scored a run and drove in another.
Jennifer Looney pitched a complete game, striking out 10 and allowing just three hits and a run in six innings of work.
Adair Goray went 1 for 2 and drove in Grayson Dickert with the Golden Tigers’ only run.
Prattville Christian 5, Tallassee 3
PRATTVILLE -- Alivia Messick limited the Tigers to just two hits in a complete-game performance, striking out 10 batters over seven innings.
At the plate, Peyton Thrash went 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs to lead the Panthers, while Chloe Hollon and Kandice Crosby were both 2 for 3 with one RBI.
PCA (17-4) remains home to play Pike Road on Thursday at 5 p.m.
St. James 18, Montgomery Academy 1 (4)
Tat Shuford went 1 for 4 with a home run, scored three runs and drove in two more as the Trojans disposed of Montgomery Academy 18-1 in a 3A Area 6 game on Monday limited to four innings by the mercy rule.
Sydney Johnston went 2 for 3 with a double, scored twice and drove in four runs, Aleigha Davis went 2 for 2, scored once and drove in a pair of runs, Lily Stanford went 2 for 3, scored twice and drove in a run, Mary Olive Maddox went 1 for 4, scored a run and had four RBIs, Kaitlin Mitchell went 1 for 1 with a double, scored twice and drove in a run, Ava Stanford went 1 for 2, scored three times and had two RBIs and Emily Needham went 1 for 2, scored a run and drove in another to lead a 12-hit attack.
Peyton Middleton pitched two innings and picked up the win with a no-hit shutout while striking out five. Davis pitched the final two innings, allowing two hits and a run while striking out three.
Emily Casey and Olivia Smith each 1 for 2, with Smith driving in Casey for the Eagles’ only run.
St. James (24-1) improved to 5-0 in Area 6 play and will return home to play Pike Road on Tuesday and Trinity on Thursday. Montgomery Academy fell to 0-4 in area play and will travel to Alabama Christian on Thursday.
BASEBALL
Montgomery Academy 12, Highland Home 2
The Eagles did not waste any time offensively, scoring two runs in the first inning, five in the second and two in the third to cruise to a 12-2 win over Flying Squadron on Monday.
Rick McBride led the 10-hit attack with three hits in four at-bats, along with three RBIs. Parker Cook hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the second. Will Hardin and Oscar Fiore each had a hit and two RBIs each. Andrew Hosein had an RBI double. John Allen Jones, Reid McBride and Luke Jones each collected a hit, with Jones driving in a run.
Andrew Hosein got the start and earned the win in three innings of work, surrendering four hits and two runs, one earned, while striking out two. Fiore threw 1.1 innings of shutout ball, striking out three and allowing one hit and Luke Jones pitched 0.2 innings, striking out both batters he faced.
The Eagles finish the season at 11-15.
Lowndes Academy 8, Autauga Academy 0
LOWNDESBORO -- Cooper Dansby pitched a complete-game three hitter, walking two and striking out eight, in an 8-0 win over the Generals on Monday.
Dansby also went 1 for 4 and drove in a run at the plate as the Rebels scored three runs in the first inning, two in the second and three more in the fourth.
Clayton Hussey went 3 for 4, scored twice and drove in three runs, Jase Howard went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Pierson Hill went 2 for 3 to lead the 12-hit attack of the Rebels.
BOYS TENNIS
Montgomery Academy clinches berth in state tournament
Montgomery Academy leads Auburn High 42-37 after the first two rounds of the 7A Section 2 Tournament at O’Connor Tennis Center, with both teams clinching a berth in the upcoming state tournament.
Enterprise High School is in third place with 23 points.
Montgomery Academy and Auburn High advanced to the finals to determine the winner and the runner up of the section tournament.
In singles, Montgomery Academy’s John Alford, Jackson Brown, Edwin Wu, Ford Morano, Anton Yang and Duncan McInnnes advanced to the finals.
In doubles, the teams of Alford-Brown, Ron Sharma and Morano and Yang-Wu will play in the finals.
GIRLS SOCCER
Prattville Christian 10, Julian 0
Ella Pegg led the Lady Panthers with three goals scored and Bella Carothers added two goals and a pair of assists as Prattville Christian defeated Julian on Monday.
Morgan Lisle added two goals, while Kendall Jordan, Eden Alexander and Addison Sutton each scored a goal. Savannah Lamar had an assist.
PCA (3-9) will play host to Chilton County tomorrow.

Prattville Christian 7, Julian 6
Cade Segars scored six goals to help the Panthers snap their losing streak with a win over Julian at Emory Folmar Soccer Complex.
Brady Roberson added one goal.
