PREP HOOPS: PCA splits with Bibb County; MA boys top Trinity

BOYS BASKETBALL

Bibb County 62, Prattville Christian 43

PRATTVILLE -- Cody Chapman had 18 points and four rebounds for the Panthers, who dropped their second consecutive 4A Area 6 game to Bibb County on Thursday in the PCA gym.

Carter Fiacco added eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists, followed by Easton Miller with six points and four rebounds and Wade Mora with four points, five rebounds and four blocked shots.

Sam Wheeler scored three points and Justin Chapman grabbed nine rebounds.

PCA (7-18) dropped to second place in the 4A Area 6 standings at 4-2, a half-game behind Bibb County at 5-2. The Panthers will travel to Tuscaloosa to play American Christian in an area game on Saturday.

In the junior varsity game, CJ Robinson had 18 points and 20 rebounds in the Panthers’ 60-44 loss to Bibb County. Ethan Kiefer added 12 points and six assists, Murray Wright had seven points and four rebounds and Spencer Wilson scored five points for PCA (2-11).

Montgomery Academy 66, Trinity 49

Montgomery Academy erased a slow start outscoring the Wildcats 17-12 for a 46-33 lead in the third quarter on the way to a win on Thursday.

MA had three players in double figures with Braden Gordon leading the way with 15 points, Skyler Stovall added 12 points and eight rebounds plus seven steals, while Jarrett Friendly chipped in 10 points, grabbed six rebounds.

MA improved to 23-2 and is 5-0 in area play. MA plays a home area game vs. Thorsby on Friday.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Prattville Christian 54, Bibb County 19

PRATTVILLE -- Jenna McClendon had 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Panthers to a 4A Area 6 win over Bibb County in the PCA gym on Thursday night.

Kayden Carr added 21 points, five rebounds and four assists, followed by Ally Blankinchip with nine points and five assists. Baylee Rogers added six assists and four steals.

PCA (17-8) improved to 6-0 in area play and will travel to Tuscaloosa to play American Christian in an area game on Saturday.
