WEEKEND PREPS: Trinity girls roll over Providence Christian; Ezekiel boys tops Macon East

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Trinity 67, Providence Christian 28
Maddie Smith had 19 points, nine assists, six steals and five rebounds to help Trinity to an easy 67-28 win over Providence Christian at Trinity’s Captain Jack Court on Saturday afternoon.
Mya Moskowitz added 16 points, six steals and four rebounds, followed by Ellie Causey with 12 points and Emory Causey with eight.
Trinity (9-3) will remain home and play Elmore County on Monday before traveling to Huntsville to play Bob Jones in a tournament next weekend.
Catholic 74, BTW Magnet 16
Catholic jumped out to a 23-2 lead in the first quarter and led 48-7 at the half in a game with BTW Magnet on Saturday in the Catholic gym.
Hannah Smith had 21 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, followed by Heaven Bailey with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 15 steals and six assists and Lela Rogers with 14 points.
Jahzara Gadson had 11 points to lead BTW Magnet.
Catholic (5-2) will travel to Park Crossing on Tuesday.
Macon East Academy 48, Ezekial 43
CECIL -- Jamaya Powell had 30 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Knights to a 48-43 win over Ezekial on Saturday in the Macon East gym.
Jadah Powell had eight rebounds for the Knights.
Macon East will remain home and play host to Hooper Academy on Tuesday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Ezekial 52, Macon East Academy 30
CECIL -- Thad McKinney led the Knights with nine points and five rebounds in a 52-30 loss to Ezekial on Saturday in the Macon East gym.
Macon East will play host to Hooper Academy on Tuesday.
WRESTLING
PCA finishes fourth in W.S. Neal tournament
EAST BREWTON -- Prattville Christian’s wrestling team traveled to W.S. Neal to take part in the 16-team varsity and junior high individual tournament, with the varsity placing fourth in the tournament.
PCA finished behind two Florida teams and tournament winner Daphne despite having only 10 wrestlers participate in the event.
Ryan Lueck placed fourth in the 132-pound division, Elijah Harris was fourth in the 144-pound class, Brysen Pugh was second in 150-pound division, Spencer Perkins was third in the 157-pound division and Bryson Bowman was second in the 215-pound division.
Wyatt Baker and Grant Derazio both placed third in the junior high tournament.
The PCA wrestling team returns to action on Tuesday as they host St. James at 6 p.m.
